Jeanette Sharp

Continue Reading Jeanette Sharp’s father died when she was just ten years old, and her mother was left to care for Jeanette and her seven siblings in a small community. Jeanette soon had an encounter with God that became a spiritual marker in her life, but in young adulthood, she drifted away, made unwise choices, and ended up as a divorced single mother. Then her health fell apart and she was diagnosed with lupus. Jeanette looked to God for every need and saw him answer in remarkable ways.

For nearly twenty years, she owned small businesses in the beauty industry. In addition to being the youngest licensed cosmetology instructor in Arizona, she also owned and operated two cosmetology schools, two beauty salons, a wholesale and retail wig business, and a beauty supply business. She has studied at Arizona State University, Tulsa University, and Oral Roberts University.

When Jeanette became a Bible-study teacher and prayer leader, she became interested in writing. She wrote a Christmas story and included it with her seasonal greetings to family and close friends. It received such a great response that her husband encouraged her to pursue writing, and she took formal training through Jerry B. Jenkins’ Christian Writers’ Guild. Coupling her love to write with her love to encourage people to know Jesus led her to form Hurray God! LLC. Jeanette is the company’s president.
Her stories have appeared in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Answered Prayers; Cup of Comfort Book of Bible Promises; and A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts. She is a member of Toastmasters International and in 2009 won its Competent Communicator Award.

Jeanette is married to Jim Sharp, Director of Land Administration at South Western Energy in Houston, TX. They live in The Woodlands, TX, and have one daughter, Daniele Cunningham, of Dallas.
