Steve Cha

Continue Reading Like the multitudes who venture to tinsel town every year, Steve Cha went to Hollywood with dreams of making it big with fame, money, and opportunities. The Hollywood dream was his idol.

One fateful day, Steve’s heart turned from serving his earthly dreams to serving the one true living God. After transforming into “a missionary disguised as an actor,” Steve spent three years working in the acting business and evangelizing to dozens of people on set, including background artists, crew members, and famous actors and actresses.

Half Chinese and half Korean, Steve was born in the United States and raised in a non-religious setting for the first eight years of his life. He began attending church at age 13, but did not live out a passionate Christian lifestyle through high school and college. He graduated from UCLA in 2002 with a B.A. in Asian American Studies.

During his stint in Hollywood, Steve worked on over a hundred film, television show, and commercial productions. He is a member of Screen Actors Guild of America and of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

Steve lives in Sherman Oaks and is a graduate student at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, where he is working towards a Master of Arts in Theology.

He attends Choong Hyun Mission Church, one of the largest congregations in Glendale. There, he serves as editor of the newsletter and leads evangelism training and community outreach. He is also director of the Los Angeles based Bible fellowship called Uncensored, and speaks at churches to promote the Great Commission.

Steve loves traveling, photography, fishing, soundtrack scores, restaurant critiquing, and visiting art museums.
